CENTER FOR MOBILITY EQUITY
a 501(c)(3) organization
The Center for Mobility Equity has served Maryland for 30 years through the core belief that access to your community is a basic human right. Our mission is to enable all people, without regard to age, disability, or economic status, to fully and independently access their lives and communities through training, education, outreach and advocacy.
The Center for Mobility Equity believes that all people have a right to equitable access to transportation; and that access to safe, reliable, and affordable transportation options is one of the most critical components of leading a healthy, independent, and fully connected life.
The Center for Mobility Equity works to connect individuals with employment, education, healthcare, and social services, as well as access to healthy foods, recreational activities, etc., by providing individual and group training, as well as online and over-the-phone information and support, in utilizing public transportation safely and independently.
The goal of our travel training program is to promote independence for individuals with disabilities and older adults. We provide training, education and supports to help people become empowered to utilize public transportation to access their communities, safely and independently.

OUTREACH & ADVOCACY
We conduct outreach to promote awareness of the existing transportation options that are available within our communities, as well as awareness of the services that we can provide to help individuals navigate them.
We also work to identify unmet needs in our communities and advocate for innovative solutions.
“Equity in transportation means a system that works for everyone and at many different levels . . . transportation policy is one of the most pressing civil and human rights issues facing our nation."
